Free Service Line
Now is a great time to make the switch to affordable and reliable Natural Gas!
Save the expense of a natural gas service line installation by installing a natural gas furnace or a tank/tankless water heater and receive up to 75’ of a natural gas service line. The starting point is at the homeowner’s property line to meter location. To qualify for a free natural gas service line the gas main must be adjacent to the property. If the service line is over 75’, the customer will incur the District’s current cost per foot rate, ask your Marketing Representative for rate or call 850-729-4700 for a FREE in-home consultation.
If a natural gas furnace, water heater or pool heater is not installed, a $325 tap fee and costs for the footage of the service line will be incurred.
All service line installations require a utility line locates by Sunshine 811. The member companies of Sunshine 811 mark the lines they own and maintain such as gas, communications, internet and electric lines. But, almost every job site includes some type of privately owned underground facility.
The installation of your natural gas service line can be accomplished in two ways:
- Open Cut or Trench
- The service line will be measured from the property line to the meter location. Trenching is a construction method that involves digging a trench in the ground to install, maintain, or inspect underground pipes, conduits, or cables. After the installation is completed, the trench is backfilled, and the disturbed ground is returned to its original state as much as possible.
- Bore Fee:
- The service line will be measured from the property line to the meter. A bore is a horizontal hole created underground primarily for installing services. It is an underground tunnel that houses cables, pipes, or conduits. A bore is typically created using horizontal directional drilling (HDD), a boring machine, or a micro-tunneling boring machine.
